About
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a masters degree in Social Work along with being licensed in the state of California since 1994. I have experience providing various types of clinical and administrative services to individuals across the lifespan with an emphasis of providing services to a predominantly underserved population as well as commercial clients. Specifically, I have experience working with children and families in the child welfare system, crisis intervention, women in recovery with co-occurring disorders, gay men of color, with HIV/AIDS, homeless individuals with comorbidity issues such as substance use, medical and mental health issues combined with experience working with the severely chronically mentally ill. Experience working on the psychiatric emergency team with a past history of being designated to evaluate and write holds. Also worked on the Kaiser Behavioral Health Helpline. Experience working with the severely mentally individuals in community mental health centers as well as providing remote services. As a result of my experiences working with individuals across the lifespan, I have an understanding of how to implement the biopsychosocial approach as the foundation of my practice. I am also experienced in providing faith based clinical services with an understanding of the relationship between biblical principles and universal laws that are integrated into clinical practice. My extensive experience encompasses working with individuals with mood disorders, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, substance abuse disorder with individuals in recovery as well as assisting individuals who are experiencing life transition that result with periods of adjustment. Because of my experience working with a broad range of individuals with various types of living conditions, I truly understand how the social determinants of health can impact positive outcomes. My strengths include using some of the following evidenced based molarities: cognitive restructuring, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, seeking safety, behavior activation, processed focus and various aspects of social cognition. Also, each individual is assessed and the appropriate treatment modality is used. My therapeutic approach is outcome driven versus problem driven
